finished double page spread

This is the final draft of my double page spread for my music magazine, i followed the planning of it by keeping the photos of AVENUE in the same positions as i planned and postioned them around the text interview. i also kept with consitency of colour and have the pink background again and the blue, pink and yellow font. I wanted the interview to be appealing so i created an interview asking various questions about there love life, music and friends and family. i wanted to create a life like interview and make it seem as real as possible, from researching other music magazines, and reading the type of interviews that appear in real music magazine it influenced what i would include in mine and the type of questions i would ask.

After creating all of my magazine on InDesign it was much harder than i thought, the software was very complicated, and it was confusing to access the tools, and put everything where you wanted it to go. if i could change i would fill up the empty spaces and fill all the gaps, i would take more photos of the my music star and would consider having a solo star to focus on as it would be easier to take photos and i could include more detail on them. i wouldnt change my name of the magazine or the colour scheme as i believe they work well together.

finished contents page

this is the final draft of my contents page, i followed through with the planning and research and also kept with the consistency of colours, as my orginal colour scheme was pink, blue and yellow and the main colours that feature are them 3 colours. i also believe that it reflects my target audience of young girls and teenagers and its bright, happy and girly with all the bright colours and fun fonts. Iv also shown the title of the magazine 'BUZZ' in the same large font and different shades of blue as that would be the trademark title for my magazine and the audience would recognise it and it stands out and it would be familaur and more readers would know my magazine. iv also added another music star Keisha (Kesha) to add more appeal and it would attract more readers and would interest more people, the magazine mentions 'Kesha Exposed' this would jump out to readers and would make them want to read on and see what has happened, as 'exposed' could mean many things, it doesnt give out to much information and it would widen the range of people that would be interested in reading, it also looks more professional if more then one music star is featured, as from my research a few music stars are involved in issues every month which defiantly makes them more tempting to buy and interesting to read. From my research i also found that most magazines have a column from the editor giving a brief description of whats coming up and whats going to be shown in the magazine, its a good chance to further persuade the reader to purchase the magazine and read on, as im the editor i mentioned 'whats hot' the main articles focused and i spoke in a chatty, friendly but persuasive tone, because its important to be friendly but you want them to support the magazine at the same time. As my music magazine contains 60 pages, including advertisments, competitions and star sign pages, i only included page numbers and articles that would be appealing to readers and they reflect my target audience, pages such as 'o2 arena inside out, how to become a music star, learn dance routines and special giveaways' this will appeal to the younger readers because its articles they would want to read is different compared to other orginal music magazine.

finished front cover

After much planning, editing and researching, the final draft for my music magazine front cover has finally been completed. My main photo was of my boy band 'AVENUE' and the main headlines were focused on them. I also included the bar code, price and date at the very bottom as its the last place that will be looked at and is the least important information, this is known as a 'Z Formation' as i mentioned earlier before. i also kept to my target audience research of having my colour scheme as 'blue, pink and yellow' i still remain happy with my decision and think the colours work well together and stand out and from my research have proven to be different compared to other current music magazines. Iv also used different font size and style depending on the importance and revelance of the text, as the 'avenue interview' is a main topic in my magazine it has larger font and stands out more then 'win tickets to the x factor tour' at the bottom. i have learnt that where the font is placed can be vital because it needs to be angled and positioned correctly, in order for the audience to notice it and be interested enough to look at it and want to read on further from the headlines tempting them. i also have 3 smaller headlines at the side, mentioning 3 different music stars that would add appeal and would reach out to more people. i believe my front cover does look right for my age range of young teenagers, and would appeal with the simple language used, bright colours and a wide selection of different headlines.
